ABStract is happening...And in days to come...you will only see more COLOURS!

Various colleges...one roof...Different logos....different colours...one aim...one goal...ONE ABStract painting!

Calling Uncle Pai...and loosing sleep...

Anant Pai, the man behind AMAR CHITRA KATHA and TINKLE, the comics on which nearly two generations have grown up...is making his presence at ABStract 2008!

He has always amazed us with his charm and simplicity...it was a great experience to call him to address us...

Yess....UNCLE PAI is coming!!! 

I sure...if you ever have read Tinkle even once in your life....YOU JUST WUDNT MISS HIM !!!

This is turning out to be one great ride...everyone at Agnels is surely geared up!! You should see the faces of our Event Heads Khushboo Vora and Deep Puri these days...!! 

"Stressed out" will be an understatement...!! LOL

I dont think they are getting even a wink of sleep now...Actually...I dont think anyone at AGNELS is !!!

But somewhere...thats the spirit ABStract brings to you...the zeal to bond...work together and create something amazing....completely out of this world...

And this time its even better....we have the support from the whole University...The colleges which have been selected have already started working on their events...and the excitement is rubbing off all over !!

ABStract has become a part and responsibility of these colleges as well...and we are truly grateful towards the people who are making this happen...

We will be telling you more about the participating colleges in our posts to come...But for now...we would first like to thank the people involved in giving these competitions their live form...

Its heartening for us students to find the support of even Professors from other institutes taking time out and working on making this event a success...

Abstract 08 preparation is in full swing... it is encouraging to see such massive participation from various colleges across Mumbai...

The best part is...there are students who will be attending the event in spite of their on going exams...Some colleges have been kind enough to even postpone their own college event to provide full support and participation to this grant chronicle called ABStract! 

We appreciate your enthusiasm and spirit..and rest assured...it wont be let down....

Agnel Business Schools fest Abstract to begin on Sept 26

About 50 colleges affiliated to Mumbai University invited for the three-day management event

The festival season in the colleges is all set to begin and Abstract, the festival of Fr Agnels Business School, will probably be the show stealer because of its novelty. Being the silver jubilee of the college and 150 years of Mumbai Universitys existence, both the bodies have come together for the three-day management festival to be held on September 26, 27 and 28.
Abstract 08 has invited about 50 colleges affiliated with Mumbai University that would participate and also organize festivals.
The students have come up with this concept where every institute has been given a chance to organize one or two events in our campus. This would bring together management students from across the city. Meanwhile, it would give our college students a chance to manage a large scale event. They themselves will have to generate revenue and also manage it well, Director of the Institute Prakash Vaithilingam said.
He added that the proceedings from the event would be given to the Agnel orphanage Balbhavan.
The students are busy arranging the entries which they have received from more than 25 colleges. We have received huge response from colleges across city and have to screen the events. There are many events that have been sent by different colleges, said one of the core committee members, Prof Sridhar Iyer. He further said that this also acts as an ice breaker between the two batches of management students.
The students are also excited about organising the event and say that they do not miss the fact that they are not allowed to participate.
Some of the events that we have received are so exciting that we will miss the chance to participate in it, but then the excitement of organising is so much that we would hardly regret about it, said Khushboo Vora, a second year student and one of the committee members. The college has received response from institutes like Sydenham in Mumbai and DY Patil in Navi Mumbai.

One Good Idea leads to a Million Revolutions...

One such revolution is this initiative taken up by Father Agnel Business School this year...

Abstract plans to integrate and showcase the talents of students pursuing M.M.S. / P.G.D.B.A.
streams in Management Education across all colleges in Mumbai, by providing a common platform
for them to come together.

The team of Abstract is overwhelmed by the response from the University. The participation of all the colleges has been outstanding!

We remember the first time we looked at the list of entries of colleges for the event...and it just plain AMAZED us!!
One initiative....and look at the support the colleges are giving us...

The participation of the students in the various events too has started pouring in...

The word is spreading....the excitement is now increasing...and everyone is charged up!
